In a world full of vlogs, why a blog?

WHY?

First, read this, then this, then this, and then this.

Despite my first entry being lengthy, it’s nowhere near what I actually think or experienced. If I included my complete thought-process and emotions, the four-part-series would probably be a ten-part-series, most likely more.

So, why a blog?

In our current world where people often rely on videos to relay information, namely by stimulating their audience’s visual and auditory senses, I’m going against the grain. I’m going with a blog because—other than not having the personality nor vanity for a vlog—it requires people to pay attention, to process what they’re reading, to interpret said information, and think critically to make a decision whether it’s information worth keeping or just a bunch of words passing through. Those requirements are things that I always do with all and any information. That being said, I am aware that a blog might not be the best way to grow my brand. FORTUNATELY, that’s not my goal.

What’s the goal?

Throughout my life, I’ve always been quality-oriented. With this blog, I’d happily take 20 critical thinkers over 100 mindless spectators anytime. In other words, I don’t just want people to watch, gossip, and comment on my posts. I want people to connect with me and pick my brain because that’s what I’m hoping to do with those that are interested and willing. I believe that there’s always someone who knows something that I don’t. Thus, my goal is to attract a specific group of people who believe that reading leads to growth and see me as someone who can bring value to their lives. Like I said beforehand, I just want to share and make myself available to those who think I can help. A couple of messages and feedback from some people regarding my first series have definitely reassured me of my mission.

*Don’t I want to share with as many people as I can?

Yes, of course. However, I also believe that if people really want to converse, they will. There just isn’t a way for me to identify who I should connect with based on views and likes.

Again, why a blog?

I made a platform to share what I want that’s within the reach of anybody to exchange experiences, perspectives, and stories that can foster a website with a great learning environment. I want people to learn from me because I want to learn as much, if not more, from others. With my blog, I hope people can realize even just a handful of the plenty benefits that reading offers, especially getting the opportunity to experience something without actually experiencing it.

A new decade is coming.

Replacing unnecessary information with enriching reading is the perfect New Year’s Resolution that will go a long way towards making the next decade your best one yet. Here are two articles (Mindless to Mindful and How To Go From Mindless to Mindful) I wrote regarding that.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
